Press Release: Adoptee Identity Kickstarter
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Adoptee Identity: The pioneer platform centering adoptee well-being.
Providence, RI — November 1, 2025 — November is National Adoption Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising visibility and awareness of the adoptee experience. While families are celebrated, the nuanced lifelong identity perspectives of adoptees is often overlooked. Until now, there has never been a dedicated digital platform designed to support adoptees and the people who love them.
This November, Adoptee Identity is launching a Kickstarter campaign to change that narrative - uniting adoptees, their families, and allies to build the pioneer well-being platform created by adoptees, for adoptees, their village, and providers. The campaign invites supporters to help fund the platform’s first app prototype and expand its growing community.
1 in 10 adults in the United States identifies as adopted (Source: Dave Thomas Foundation). Adoptees are twice as likely to develop a substance use disorder and four times more likely to attempt suicide than their non-adopted peers.
“This isn’t just a statistic,” says founder Dr. Zoë Hansen-DiBello. “It’s a public health crisis hiding in plain sight.”
Adoptee Identity changes that.
Through guided meditations, reflective journaling, storytelling, crowdsourcing art, and community connection, Adoptee Identity encourages self-reflection centered on relationship building, more compassionate care, and improved mental health outcomes. Grounded in research and built on lived experience, the platform helps users explore origin, adoption, big feeling days, and embracing multiple truths.
Adoptee Identity has secured a $250,000 investment from startup, Rogue Venture Partners, contingent on securing a matching investment to unlock the funds.
The startup has partnered with Xogito, an NYC-based development firm, to build its first app prototype (MVP) following a completed design specification process. Adoptee Identity's platform and initial products have been tested with healthcare, education, and adoptee groups, all showing strong enthusiasm.
Every movement starts with people. Join Adoptee Identity in building a collective home for adoptees and their village by backing the Kickstarter campaign. Your support directly funds app development and community growth - helping make this vision a reality.
